London Life

London is divided up into 5 main areas:

Central London – this is the innermost part of the city that features high concentration of attractions and historical landmarks, such as The Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, countless museums and galleries, designer shops in Bond Street and Oxford Street and Theatreland where you can see all the latest musicals and West End shows.

West London – is renowned for its exclusive hotels, restaurants and shops and home to the rich and famous, not to mention a few Royals.  The most famous department store in the world can be found here – Harrods, where it is rumoured you can buy anything. It’s not all shopping as some of the best museums in the country can be found here too, The Natural History Museum, Science Museum and the V&A care on and near the Exhibition Road.

North London – has some of the city’s most famous music venues, vibrant markets like the one in world famous Camden Town, beautiful parks; Hampstead Heath and Regents Park and is home to London Zoo.

East London – not only is this home of the country’s financial centre, with its distinctive mix of traditional and modern architecture, but it is also the creative and contemporary hub of the city. Here you will find trendy galleries, cutting edge fashion, exciting bars and restaurants in Hoxton and Shoreditch and curry houses along famous Brick Lane. Of course historically, East London was notorious for the crimes of Jack the Ripper, the inspiration for Charles Dickens and the novels about Sherlock Holmes.

South London – south of the River Thames you will find the Borough Market, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and the South Bank centre, which is home to the National Theatre, Royal Festival Hall, Hayward Gallery and British Film Institute. Walk alongside the river towards the London Eye and Tate Modern and indulge in market stalls of world food, or sit and relax in one of the many bars and restaurant and take in the magnificent river views.

Which ever area you decide to live, London has everything you could possibly want; hundreds of bars and restaurants offering every conceivable type of food on the planet, music venues, numerous cinemas, beautiful parks, amazing architecture and history and best of all, London has Londoners!
