The best schools are regularly inspected by accrediting bodies. They check the quality of teaching, student care, administration and management, to make sure that you will learn English in a safe environment.
The British Council provides regular inspections of schools, colleges, and universities which offer courses in English as a Foreign Language (EFL). The scheme gives an assurance of quality to those wanting to study EFL in the UK.

The British Council inspected and accredited The Stay Academy (TSA English) in February 2015. The Accreditation Scheme assesses the standards of management, resources and premises, teaching, welfare and care of under 18s and accredits organisations which meet the overall standard in each area inspected (see www.britishcouncil.org/education/accreditation for details).
This private language school offers residential courses in general English for adults (16+) and for closed groups of under 18s in school premises.
The inspection report stated that the organisation met the standards of the Scheme.
Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI)
The ISI is an approved Educational Oversight body authorised by the Home Office to inspect privately funded further education colleges and English language schools in England and Wales offering courses on the Qualifications and Credit Framework. It is designed to improve the quality of education on offer to international students who attend UK colleges through Tier 4 of the points-based system for student visas.

In our last ISI inspection in May 2015, TSA was found to meet expectations for the quality of education. At the time of the inspection, all Key Standards for Educational Oversight were met and quality is good

Membership of English UK is a badge of quality: all our members must pass one of the world’s most rigorous inspection schemes, Accreditation UK, which they manage jointly with the British Council. They also help protect students with a complaints scheme and our Student Emergency Support Fund.
